Since 1999, the mTOR inhibitors, Rapamycin has been used by millions of patients with no unexpected problems. One may suggest that if this drug is safe enough for very sick patients, then why not for healthy people.

Healthy elderly people chronically treated with mTOR inhibitors showed no ill effects (e.g. hyperglycemia)

Although mTOR inhibitors may reverse some manifestations of aging, it is more effective at slowing down aging than reversing it. Therefore, it will be most effective when administered at the pre-disease, or even pre-pre-disease stages of age-related diseases. For example, it is suggested that mTOR inhibitors could be useful in Alzheimer disease, but only in the earliest stages.

Scientifically shown to:

  • Reduce wrinkling by increasing skin collagen

  • Induces hair regeneration

  • Helps periodontal disease

  • Reduces Arthritis

  • Helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease

  • Helps reduce incidence of cancer

  • Helps reduce heart disease

So, is it too late to take mTOR inhibitor once aging reaches an unhealthy stage? Actually, it is not too late. Even if one or a few age-related diseases renders aging unhealthy, other potential diseases are still at pre-disease stages, and anti-aging drugs may delay their development. And they may slow down further progression of existing overt diseases.
